Both models are equal, normally available choices, so the decision starts with how you will use the car rather than which model is treated as a substitute. Model Y offers SUV-style access and flexible luggage room. Model 3 is the lower sedan choice. Every booking is confirmed by phone with the dates, pickup area, passengers, luggage and broad route. Pickup is available in Sydney and Auburn, with delivery options across Greater Sydney. We do not publish fleet counts, colours, drivetrain badges, prices or an online calendar.

Two current-generation body styles
Choose Model Y for a higher seating position, rear hatch and flexible space that can suit families, airport luggage or a coastal week. It has five seats, a large central touchscreen and a rear passenger screen. Heated seats and ventilated front seats support longer days, while the panoramic glass roof and quiet acoustic-glass cabin shape the passenger experience.
Choose Model 3 when you prefer a lower sedan profile and separate boot for city driving, meetings or lighter travel. It uses the same current-generation approach to phone key, Tesla app access, navigation, charging and over-the-air software updates. Tell us about unusual luggage or child-seat needs rather than relying on a generic capacity claim.
Technology
Current after they leave the factory
Over-the-air updates keep cabin software current. Navigation, climate, media, charging and vehicle settings sit on the large central touchscreen, and the in-car Trip Planner can add Supercharger stops to longer routes. The car is presented charged and first-time drivers receive a practical handover.
The Tesla camera suite and latest Autopilot driver assistance support the driver but do not replace attention. Full Self-Driving (Supervised) is available where equipped. The driver must stay alert and in control. The car is not autonomous. We do not describe unsupported hardware names, software versions or packages.
Match the car to the booking
For a day, focus on passenger space, parking and the first route. For a week, consider charging near accommodation and whether luggage access matters. For a month, include commuting, regular parking and regional travel. Airport arrivals need terminal-specific instructions, while a weekend route needs a charging plan.
Insurance is included under the hire agreement. Excess, bond, eligibility and conditions are confirmed by phone. Call 1300 356 387 from 7am to 7pm, seven days. Outside those hours, leave a message or use the callback form.
For an airport arrival, compare luggage access and give us the terminal before deciding. For a NSW weekend, consider where the car will charge overnight. For regular city use, think about parking dimensions, passenger access and whether the sedan or SUV seating position feels more natural. A useful comparison is based on the whole booking, not a single specification.
Whichever model you choose, the handover covers the same essentials and the Tesla-only promise remains the same. You receive the model agreed on the call, not an undefined class of vehicle. That clarity matters when the purpose of the hire depends on luggage access, seating position or learning a particular Tesla layout.
