Navigation and charging are connected through the in-car Trip Planner. For a regional journey, the car can suggest a Supercharger stop and update the estimate as conditions change. A compatible destination charger may suit a hotel or longer stop. Charging access and payment still need to be understood before departure.
Hire from a Tesla-only operator
A mixed-fleet booking can leave the model uncertain. Rent A Tesla supplies current-generation 2026 Model Y and Model 3 vehicles, with both models normally available as equal choices. There is no petrol, hybrid or other-brand fallback. You choose between an SUV-style hatch and a sedan based on the trip.
Phone-led booking also creates space to discuss luggage, terminals, delivery, charging and first-time questions. Pickup is available in Sydney and Auburn, with delivery options across Greater Sydney. Airport collection is arranged separately around the flight and terminal.
Technology with clear limits
Phone key, Tesla app access, over-the-air updates, the central touchscreen and the camera suite are part of the current-generation experience. Model Y also includes a rear passenger screen, heated seats and ventilated front seats.
Full Self-Driving (Supervised) is available where equipped. The driver must stay alert and in control. The car is not autonomous. Hire is an opportunity to understand these limits in real use, not permission to hand responsibility to the vehicle.
The useful question is not whether the car has technology, but whether that technology helps on your trip. Test navigation on familiar roads, see how charging fits the schedule and learn the screen while parked. Avoid changing settings while attention belongs on traffic.
Try the self-driving software properly
Many hirers book specifically to experience Tesla's latest driver-assistance software. Full Self-Driving (Supervised) is available where equipped, and hiring is the realistic way to spend proper time with it — on your own roads, in real traffic, over days rather than a supervised demonstration loop.
The rule never changes: the driver must stay alert and in control at all times. The car is not autonomous. The system assists with steering, speed and lane decisions under supervision, and it will ask for your attention. Understanding those alerts and limits is part of the handover briefing.
